Marco and Polo here,
We come to you today after one of the first of more lasts than we care to think about. Have no fear our blog is not ending, but our time as undergrad students is. We are coming up on the end of term, which means that we have to go to academic advising for our next school term, in this case our last school term, and we are in NO way ready for it all to end. We are faced with the harsh reality of only having seven months to figure out our next steps, to accept and say goodbye to the friends and family we have made in the last four years, and we have no idea where to even begin, but this is where we're going to start.
Last you heard from us Marco was planning on getting a PhD in either forensic chemistry or epidemiology and Polo had no real plan except for the Navy. Well there's been a slight, but expected, change of plans. Our sights have now been turned toward pathologist assistants, a masters program that would enable us to assist in autopsies (for all you crazy non-crime show watchers this is where the medical examiner investigates a persons death by opening the body). This career path has been Dr. Mom approved (in related news Dr. Mom has learned to fist bump) but has yet to be submitted to La Catedrática. We will hopefully be shadowing the local medical examiner starting this week to see if this is really the field for us. This is also one of the only foreseeable option where Marco and Polo will be staying together for a few more years (we are currently in denial about ever splitting up).
We have also decided that at some future date we will be getting our liquor license and opening our very own, very nerdy, one of a kind bar (to be named The Helix). This plan has seen more approval than our plans for higher education, we have had several in depth discussions about this with Dr. Adamantium (another fantastic professor who is forced to put up with the shenanigans of Marco and Polo) and The Kid (our prodigy, our third musketeer, our alibi) in one of our classes. Biochemistry isn't all fun and games kids, we're building a business here.
As always stay nerdy,
Marco & Polo
P.S. stay tuned for future life decisions, cause lets face it this will probably take a total 180...
